“I hated how things felt between Christian and me last night. It was weird and awkward, so unlike the way we are around each other. Being around Christian is usually as easy as breathing. I’ve known Christian most of my life. It’s hard to imagine my life before he was in it. I mean, I know there was a time when he wasn’t. He’s since moved, thank goodness. He liked giving me wedgies and pulling my hair. When I would complain about him Mom would shake her head and say that’s how boys show you they like you.
