Evan placed a hand on the hood of her Jeep. “I did what I could, Rache. I called in a favor and got you five minutes with him. It’s the best I could manage. If I were you, I’d use the time wisely. Find a way to convince him to accept legal counsel.” His normally pleasant features were drawn into a grim expression.
