“The fact that she had to put on the same clothes, though, ruined the afterglow. They all stopped at a breakfast place and ate a big meal. The guys mainly ate meat, which, to her, didn’t seem very appealing for it being seven in the morning.
A steak sounded all right, but five steaks, bacon, ham, and sausage each was unfathomable. She had never seen anyone eat so much in her life. The smells, along with all the different varieties of food, were enough to make her sick, but seeing that amount of ...food consumed made her stomach hurt even worse.
Throughout the meal, Jordan turned back into the guy she met before, quiet but with a friendly smile. His brown eyes sparkled while he joked to her about needing to eat more. She noticed that Jordan and she were the only ones really talking. Zachary and Cole became so consumed with eating that they hardly looked up from their plate, but not Jordan. He carried on a conversation beautifully. She felt completely at ease with him now.
Both Cole and Jordan agreed she should ride in the front seat of the car while Zachary drove.MoreLess
