This was my first book by Mira Grant. When I had read the blurb I was really excited and honestly, the book did not dissapoint.Yes, maybe the technicalities of biology, bioenginering and science aren't all correct, and maybe Sal isn't all that relatable, but the story was brilliantly written and thought out and I could not, would not, put the book down! There were a few twists that I saw coming and the ending wasn't all that surprising, but it was só worth it! On to the next ride with b

I LOVED THIS! Set in the near future, the scenario of a medically engineered tape worm that everyone has willingly ingested in order to be safe and healthy, is not beyond the realm of belief. And that this attempt at playing God would backfire, is also no great leap. I really enjoyed the main character, Sal, because she is anxious, naive, and a very genuine feeling voice. She didn't read like every other scifi heroine. She read like a young woman who is still trying to figure out if she's a child or a woman, and how she fits into this world that she doesn't remember and can only mostly relate to. I loved the characters in this book, everyone of them is complex, and there's very few who are decidedly on one side or the other of right and wrong, or who's motives are purely altruistic or malevolent. I liked the complexity and the action of this story. It's something that you'd see in a YA genre, but written for adults, and I really enjoyed it.

This book was exciting and funny and had a few twists. I found it really enjoyable.
The characters are relatable and although the relationship between the main character and her boyfriend is a bit too perfect, it makes for good reading. The "to be continued..." was a huge disappointment
