“Sofia told them after she finished crying. “I’m sorry for being such a … baby.”
“Oh honey, you aren’t being a baby,” John said to her soothingly. He pulled her closer to him. “You’ve been through so much in the last seven months kitten. We would be surprised if you weren’t feeling a little overwhelmed by it all.”
Sofia wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in his neck. He held her like that for several long minutes. When he felt her sigh and then settle in next to him, ...he knew she had fallen asleep and laid her down gently. He pushed her hair behind her ear. Leaning down he kissed her on the forehead.
“We need to get her some help,” Dom said softly.
“Yeah,” John whispered. “But for now she needs to get some sleep. I’ll stay with her for a couple of hours and then you can take a couple more if she needs it.”
“Ok. I’m going to go do some research. I’ll check in on you both in awhile.”MoreLess
