“Simon lounged on the couch—Daniel asleep on his chest, sucking on his fist—looking out Sand Dollar Point’s large windows at the chilly October sky over bright blue ocean waves. If he had his way, he would sit on the porch, basking in the son, stroking his son’s head as he snoozed away, dreaming of angels. That was the life.
