It didn’t help the uncertainty gripping her that he hadn’t really kissed her before he’d gone. The brush of his lips on her forehead had felt horribly like a brush-off.
What did help was knowing that he wanted her to call after she’d talked to Kyle Madsen, the sous chef she so desperately wanted to hire.
