“RUDY groaned, his head feeling as though it had been run over by his biplane. His entire body was in agony, and there was a strange heaviness to his heart. There was something in his lover’s voice, something… ...different. Rudy gazed up at Jack’s handsome face, the sight nearly bringing tears to his eyes. It was true; Jack was there, but not entirely. Yet Rudy couldn’t bring himself to accept it. The brightness in his lover’s black eyes seemed to have dimmed, and the ache in Rudy’s heart became almost as great as the one in his body.
