It was too thick and bright to be real. “This looks like nail polish,” she murmured, chipping at the glossy red streak with her thumbnail. “Where did you find this, Natalia?” The dark-haired girl nodded toward the stairs. “I was going into one of the rooms upstairs.... It was wedged between the floorboards.” “Was it hard to see?” Nancy asked.
