What we perceived as an outrageous promise (“Give me two weeks!”) was actually just Bill being the master showman that he was. Like any great gambler (and KISS represented the biggest gamble of Bill’s career, by a wide margin), he’d done his homework and manipulated the odds in his favor. Managing a rock ’n’ roll band is at best a risky proposition; bankrolling that band and promising to make it one of the biggest bands in the world requires gigantic brains and balls in roughly equal amounts.MoreLess
