“Wade may be able to hold his own in a fight—but Shawn had damn near written a handbook on streetfighting. Wade had seen the results of his handiwork, and they hadn’t been pretty.
The only one who had ever held his own against Shawn was his older brother, Dylan.
Before Shawn could even open his mouth, Nikki planted herself between them, shoving them apart with strong, slender hands.
“Don’t even think about it, kid,” she snapped, apparently oblivious to the fact that he outweighed and outreached her.
“Easy, Nik. All I want to do is make good on a promise I made myself.” And he sidestepped to face Wade once more.
“No.”
Flashing a cocky grin, Shawn promised, “I won’t kill him, sis. Just maim him a little. Make him remember not to mess with a Kline again.”
Without blinking, she stepped hard on Shawn’s instep and punched him in the gut.
“You mean little bitch,” Shawn wheezed out, glaring at her.
