He was commissioned to edit a series entitled The World in Miniature, published over a period of 27 years starting in 1821 by the R. Ackerman publishing house. Titles include: Tibet and the India Beyond the Ganges (1821), Hindoostan (1822), Russia (1822), Austria (1823), The Netherlands (1823), Japan (1824), Spain and Portugal (1825) and Persia (1828). He also edited the Forget Me Not (1823-53) and Ackermann's Juvenile Forget Me Not (1830-32) annuals.
