“The rain continued to pound. Two empty wineglasses sat on the coffee table. Etta James crooned “At Last” in the background. Olivia was wrapped in Connor’s arms with a throw from the couch covering them. Connor tenderly stroked her curls, and placed tiny kisses every so often on her forehead. What she felt right then at that moment was a closeness that she had never experienced. The lyrics to the song were hauntingly real for her.
