“I could tell by her tone she was excited about something—I could practically see her bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet. Reluctantly, I agreed to meet her in about half an hour—which would give me enough time to shower, gulp down some coffee, and try to wake up. I got the coffee going while I brushed my teeth and got in the shower. The hot water splashing over my body somehow managed to wash the sleep out of my eyes and soak the tired out of my muscles.
