A collection of 21 Indian fables of the Jataka tradition is created by Ellen C. Babbitt: the author retold for the young readers and compiled a part of a voluminous body of folklore-like literature concerning the previous animal reincarnations of the Buddha. This book continues the 1912 work by the same author and illustrator, “Jataka Tales”, which captivated children with wonderful, original tales.
