This wasn’t as easy as it should have been. The people in Sara’s life kept changing. Every year brought with it a fresh set of names. Old faces disappeared; new faces popped into view. No one seemed to stay around very long.

The next day, she moved on to someone new. Sara never formed a lasting bond with anyone in particular, although these temporary attachments were intense and heartfelt. But when each new day came, she moved forward, without ever looking back.
The move from Pittsburgh to Palm Beach hadn’t affected her in any noticeable way.
