"I'm pregnant," she says again, searching his face for some sign of a response. "Are you listening to me? I'm having a baby. I'm already a month gone. I saw a doctor this morning and had it confirmed. In about eight months' time, I'm gonna give birth." She pauses, giving him a chance to say something.
