“I had felt dirty and violated since the moment I had seen his stupid car. Stepping into an outfit that Adam hadn’t paid for, a white T-shirt and leggings, I was set on erasing this morning’s experience from my mind before Nate came home. “Are you OK?” Nate said, setting his bag down. “I tried to call you.”

That scared him enough to make him jump.
“Sorry,” I said, sighing. “I took East for a walk and, despite how big this city is, Adam just had to drive by. He proceeded to tell me how worried he was since I wasn’t returning his calls, and scolded me for being with you. I am now refusing to wear his clothes, which leaves very little to choose from in my suitcase.”MoreLess
