“Mainly because I suspect – no, in fact I know – that if I say I need to go back home to get some stuff, they’ll try to stop me. They’ll suggest a road trip together, and then we’ll pile into the car and probably end up having sex in my apartment, too, and I won’t have a second to breathe.
I just need one second. A little slip of time, to get myself together and be certain that this is what I want, before returning.
Even though I know I don’t really need any time at all. I spent last night writi...ng, for the first time in years. I didn’t think about the library, or my future – I didn’t even really think about Tyler and Brandon. I just thought about all the things my life could be now, if I wanted it enough.
I could have love, and sex, and happiness. I could actually work at this bar with my two best friends, and in the evenings … well. It’s pretty obvious what’s going to be happening in the evenings. And in the afternoons. And all the time.
