“I lay in my bed across from her, feeling strange. I had never shared a room with anyone but Margaret. ”Yeah,“ I said. ”It is.“ Sandy was shorter than I was, but already she had started growing in places my body didn’t even know existed. I had tried not to watch her getting dressed for bed, but couldn’t help looking over when she was pulling her T-shirt on. She wasn’t flat-chested like me. Her skin was so white I could see the blue veins running along her arms.
