“These were Quinn’s first words when Aidan opened the door.
“What are you doing here? It’s after midnight,” Aidan said. Even though he wasn’t asleep, he still felt tired and worn out.
“I’ve been on the phone for so damn long I feel like a teenage girl,” Quinn said, sitting down on the sofa. “I’ve talked to Dad, Darcy, Hugh, and Anna. Seriously, man, what did you do?”
Figuring his brother wasn’t leaving anytime soon, Aidan shut the door and joined him on the couch. “I went to dinner a...t Dad’s like I always do. Why? What have you heard?”
“Don’t be a smart-ass. I’m tired and I’ve got to be up before the sun. I’m here because I’m worried about you. Now what happened?”
Aidan let out a sigh and then relayed the events of the evening, including what happened at Zoe’s. “I don’t even know what happened,” he said honestly, finding that it felt good to finally get all of it off his chest.MoreLess
