““We’re doing fine. She looked at the other guest. “Hi, I’m Lisa Turner.”
“Tom Herndon. Nice to meet you, Lisa. Susan has told me about you.”
Susan walked into the room, “I see you two have met. Bill is new to the troop and we’re introducing him to some of the old-timers. Bill just got here from Fort Rucker. Bill, Lisa’s husband was a Night Stalker.”
“Old-timer, am I? Thanks a lot, Susan. I never get mad, but I will get even.” Everyone laughed.
They had dinner, then co...ffee, and everyone sat around talking about people they knew, places they had been and so on. Glancing at her watch, Lisa said, “It’s a school night, I’d better get back and let the sitter go home.”
Tom stood and said, “I’ll walk you to your car.”
“It isn’t necessary but thank you.”
“I could use some air anyway.” He walked with Lisa to her car and held the door for her. As she got in, he asked, “Could I give you a call sometime?”MoreLess
