“The second the man walked through the door, Jack had been on edge. Tension vibrated through his body and he fought to keep his cool.
The man stared at Lisa like she was the prize at the bottom of the cereal box. While Jack agreed with that idea, Lisa was his prize and he had no intention of sharing. He wanted to tuck her away from the world; never letting another human being set eyes on her.
Logically he knew she would never go for it, but it didn’t stop him from picturing it in his head. Just like it didn’t stop him from imagining throwing the man out the window because he was leering at Lisa.
The man eventually took the hint, rolling the cart through the open door. Jack slammed it behind him, not bothering to tip him. The man got a good look at Jack’s woman and that had been enough.
“Are you going to join me or continue scowling because that man had the audacity to look at me?” She chuckled and sat down.
