Back when the hard case crime novels were coming out once a month about 7 or so years ago, I was pretty addicted to them. The hard case crime series was largely reprints of golden age noir novels and some newly commissioned modern novels that paid homage to that style. They were like crack and I read many many of them. King had a story called "The Colorado Kid" in the series that didn't do much for me which was disappointing because King was the first adult author I loved back when I was a kid. In the intervening years, I've rediscovered King and enjoyed many of his latter day novels. 11/23/63 is one of the best audiobooks I've ever done, and Doctor Sleep was an enjoyable ride. This book was EXACTLY what I wanted it to be. King filtered nostalgia for the 70s, check. Short (and therefore more disciplined), check. Lots of carny insider color, check. good stuff!MoreLess

I can't believe, that halfway through the book it just stops and you can't finish reading it!

I know, its because it has DRM(digital rights management) protection. So, after four years I thought I'd check it again. Nothing has changed. If only we'd get ghost writers who would post them but Google and Bing are always on the lookout

I'm going to guess since this is a crime drama with helpful ghosts, that the guy who Dev just tried to save dies. Then, I'm going to guess that it's Lane who's the killer.

I enjoyed the first half of the book. I had to go to the library to read the second half. I liked the book
