“At dinner, our conversation is easy while I wait for him to get to Rocket. Since the unspoken conversation is starting to gnaw on me, I finally say, “I’m glad you flew in early and got to meet Rocket.”

We read our menus in silence as I realize that Nick was right and saved me from making a big mistake.
