“I blinked and tried to process the noise. The skies are falling. My heart, already racing, hammered against my ribs so hard that it hurt. Lifting my head from Davy’s chest, I clenched my fingers around his jacket, and he wrapped his arms tight around me. He leaned forward to cover my head. “What’s happening?” I didn’t know if he’d hear me over the noise. He didn’t have time to reply. Boom. The crash was right overhead.
