“The SEALs were inside, running through their final briefing, and it was not lost on Pope that he hadn’t been invited to participate. Fair enough, he thought. They finished and the men filed out. They all looked like typical, average SEALs: around six foot tall, lean physiques, buzzcut hair.

They went out onto the flight deck. The Knighthawk that Pope had arrived in had been lashed to its bindings and, as they watched, an Osprey was coming in to land.
“When are your men going out?”
