I was antsy all day after my trip to the spa. I was like Mum of the Year, running around after the kids, keeping them – and myself – busy. Mum had another night out with her old school friend and Louise was working late, again, so when I finally got the kids to sleep, I sat down with my laptop and began scrolling through some decorating sites, looking... for inspiration for the treatment rooms at our new site.
I was making some notes about wallpaper when a message popped up on my screen. It was Mildred.
‘Are you around?’ she typed. ‘I could do with some distraction.’ ‘I can definitely offer that,’ I wrote back. ‘I’m home alone, bored and worried about work. What’s up?’ ‘Stuff at home,’ she said. ‘Tell me what’s worrying you.’ ‘I’ll tell you,’ I said. ‘But only if you tell me what’s happening with you afterwards.’ I thought for a minute, then I typed again.MoreLess
