“The sky was cloudy and there was the smell of ice in the air. The region was on watch for the potential of their first winter storm. Demona rubbed her hands together and blew on them, but her breath did little more than create a fog. The moisture clung to her hands for a moment before the cold gripped them once again.
She reached down to a plate that sat on her lap and tore a piece of bacon in half. She chewed one part and tossed the other half to the dog. He caught the bacon and swallowe...d it whole.
