“He could hear her breathing, ragged and quick. He was worried about her mental state and wanted to get her back to the truck as quickly as possible. West climbed into the truck and flipped out his cell phone. First, he called Blaise. Then, he called his lawyer. And only then, did he call the Tetam County Sheriff's Department. He hoped the same deputy that had come last time would come and help them this time too.
