In my rearview mirror, a gallery of demons flashes past—the faces, contorted with emotion, of those trying to beat the traffic by suicidally cutting through it on mopeds. Frantic to clock in, they contribute their energy to the city in the hope that it will offer them something in return. Meanwhile, kings and princes roar overhead, skimming towards the horizon, perusing the morning newspapers.
