“He waved his hand at her lap and then to the front of his kilt with a look of utter shock. “You and me? Have a bairn?” Standing wide-legged with his fists planted on his hips, he stared at her as if she’d lost her mind. “Never in a million years did I imagine you’d come all the way over to proposition me.”
Kate’s face blazed. “Knock it off. I’m not propositioning you. I said I wanted to have your baby, not have sex with you.”
“Last time I checked the way you have a bairn is through sex. Fucking to be exact,” he said bluntly. “Marriage is usually in order too.” “Who said anything about marriage?” She stood up and faced him squarely. “This has nothing to do with marriage or making love. I have something else in mind.”
He snorted. “This I want to hear.”
She couldn’t get into details just yet. Not with that ornery look on his face. No need to wave a red cape in front of the bull.
