“I’ve called her three times,” Hawk said, worry in his voice.
“She went up to her room to read about an hour ago,” Ruben told him.
“Are you talking about Cara?” Johnnie asked.
“What of it, Prospect?” Ruben said. “Prospects should speak when spoken to.”
“She left to do an errand. I opened the gate for her.”
