He skated back to center ice, smiling when he caught sight of Rachel bouncing in her seat right behind the Leafs’ bench. He swore he’d heard her cheering her lungs out when he had scored his two goals.
“Good play,” Nathan praised as he skated into position. Jeremy tapped gloves with him as he passed by, and they grinned at each other.
The two of them had been unstoppable together, both on and off the ice, since that night in Boston. Even the head coach hadn’t been able to find anything to yell at them about. The rest of the team had caught their spirit, and the team was currently on a winning streak.
