“She was so annoyed with Susanna that she had to keep her lips pressed tightly together to keep from saying something that she’d regret. This was the morning that she and Susanna were supposed to ride to Maryland with Albert to pick up the alpacas. Yesterday, Susanna had been so excited about going, but this morning was a different story.
“Susanna,” she muttered under her breath. “What am I going to do with you?”
Rebecca was at Anna’s making wedding plans. Susanna had gone next door to R...uth’s to return a bag of sugar that they’d borrowed earlier in the week. She was supposed to come right back, but instead, she’d apparently met David at the end of the lane. The two of them had gone to Milford in a van with David’s mother and older sister. Hannah wouldn’t even have known it if Charley hadn’t stopped by to tell her.
