“It was Zak.
“Do you have any idea what time it is?” I groaned. Charlie yawned and readjusted his position on the bed while Spade and Marlow opted for an irritated leap to the floor and an angry scurry out the bedroom door. “One thirty-eight,” he replied.
“Why are you calling me at one thirty-eight?”
“Levi is in jail. They arrested him for the murder of Coach Griswold.”
“What?” I bolted upright. I turned on the bedside light and looked around the room. I figured I had to be dreaming. That made about as much sense as anything. Why in the world would anyone think Levi killed Coach Griswold?
I must have voiced my thought out loud because Zak responded. “Levi was seen arguing with Griswold Wednesday afternoon. It’s been determined that the time of death was some time Wednesday night.”
“Seems like a pretty weak reason to arrest a guy,”
