Maddie internally chastised herself for not coming up with a suitable lie before entering the store. “Yes. I’m looking for something for my grandmother. “Maude? What’s wrong now?” Tara visibly relaxed at Maddie’s admission.
“I don’t know. Irma Kingston is over at the house and they claim the world is going to end because Edna Proctor wants to be a Pink Lady.”
