“Nickers gave a friendly nicker, and I hoped Amigo would get the message. Maybe he would trust my horse, even though he clearly didn’t trust me. He’d caught me a good one on my upper arm, biting right through my jacket. Amigo’s back twitched as if he had a swarm of flies after him. He cowered closer to the back wall, waiting for me to punish him. “I’m not going to hurt you. I know you’re just scared.” I’d need to teach him not to bite.
