—Bernard Baruch ON TUESDAY, MAY 28, Knudsen sat in his office in the General Motors Building. The Detroit Free Press headline blared, BELGIANS SURRENDER ON KING’S ORDER. Knudsen, however, was looking over long rows of automobile production numbers. The phone rang.
