“Patrick had suited up and was currently manning one of the hoses dousing the bookstore blaze. She could see from across the street that the wall abutting her studio was in shambles. If the fighters didn’t get the fire under control soon, her sacred workspace was going to be toast along with all the projects she was in the middle of—the calendar, two weddings, and a christening to be exact.
