Fiery Fate
“I cannot find her!”
Roarke’s head shot up at the sound of Trista’s voice, dread turning his blood cold.
She entered the hall in a rush and threw herself into Noele’s arms.
“What? What do you mean she is gone?” Noele’s frantic look mirrored Roarke’s feelings.
Trista’s golden-flecked face was streaked with tears. “I went to find her this morning because she usually awakens before the rest of us. Her room was empty, her bedcovers undisturbed. I looked everywhere for her, Noele. I cannot find her!”
“Are you certain?” Garick asked as he stepped beside his wife. A concerned frown etched lines on his brow.
“Yes. I can feel it. She no longer resides at Winterland.” Garick turned to Noele, who closed her eyes and became very still. When she opened them a few seconds later, she nodded. “Trista speaks truth. Solara is not within the castle grounds.” Roarke remained silent and waited for instructions from Garick, despite his immediate desire to strip the castle walls bare and find Solara.
