“They’d finished eating and she had let him play in the yard until dark and mosquitoes had driven them in. He was watching television on the floor in the living room and she was drinking a rare beer in the chair behind him. She was wondering if Bobby was going to come by tonight to check on them. She hadn’t decided whether to tell him about the car coming by the night before. And she hadn’t decided what she would do if Glen came by. Talk first for sure.
