Driving to France with Compton-King would be much more fun than just himself and Megan in the Fiat, which had been acting up a bit lately. ‘Well – it’s a nice idea… I mean, thanks very much for the offer. I need to be mobile, but I suppose I could always hire a car at the other end. I booked us a gite near Cahors. Very much last-minute, but it sounds all right.
