Violet says: Joe Ledger and Echo Team are on the job after the President is kidnapped out of the White House. It appears aliens have abducted him. UFOs have visited and crashed on Earth and several military-industrial complex entities are determined to piece together a craft cobbled together from the scavenged parts. Who will succeed first? Do alien-human hybrids live among us? Joe wants to believe. But something wants that technology back.... rpr141 says: I’d give this book a 3/5. I feel this book... and the second book were the worst so far of the series. They weren’t bad but they weren’t as great as the other ones. The start of this book started off really good and then started to drag on. Even the ending wasn’t everything I was hoping it would be. There was way too much unrealistic fighting and too many people died. I know it is weird for me to say that after all the deaths in the four previous books that there is too much death but this book just tops it. I am not really sure how all the characters are going to be able to overcome all this death and destruction. The DMS was everyone's family and now that is gone, how do they survive and become emotionally complete (or in Joe’s case sane enough to survive everyday)? I really wish DMS wasn’t destroyed as it was. The plot of this novel wasn’t scary either, unlike the first one. How can aliens be scary? As the series progressed it got less scary and more crazy. The novel was still enjoyable but I wish the series would go back to scary. Rudy and Circe got married but I felt this didn’t add anything to the novel. Violin was only briefly mentioned during the beginning of the novel which really disappointed me. I loved Violin and I wish she would have had more of an spotlight in the novel. Instead we get introduced to a new character, Junie. Now Junie is a cool character but not nearly as cool as Violin. MoreLessRead More Read Less
