Down a Dark Hall
The first act of this novel does an excellent job of building up mysterious tension of this ominous school that is the setting for the story. However, after the nearly absurd reveal, I feel that this book lost all its intrigue. None of the characters were likable or deep enough to latch onto. The writing seems, to be blunt, mediocre. There were a few terms, such as “incredulously”, that were repeated consistently in over abundance. There were admittedly a few moments of considerably unsettling i
...magery, many times with the use of a mirror. I wish the story embraced more of these chills than the more ludicrous secrets that were held at Blackwood. I recognize there is enjoyment to be had for some with this novel, but it was unable to keep my interest and couldn’t quite reach my expectations, hence it’s score.
Fairly interesting story but...
I liked the idea of the story, I just found it incomplete as a book. The MC is your generic normal and bland teenage/30 something female character. Everyone else is either a typical stereotype or just a name. There's the intelligent and therefore unattractive girl and the beautiful and therefore dumb girl. The fourth girl is just a weaker version of the MC. We are constantly being told how hot the young male is, but we don't really have an idea of his personality. To be honest, I thought it was just lazy writing. Let's hope they can do better with the movie.

This book is amazing it is filled with mystery and suspense and the writer gives you little hits as to what will happen but you would not notice until the very end when you put it all together over all this book was just really really great I would recommend this book to anyone the only thing is personally I felt there should have been a little bit more to the end but still so far the best book I have ever read and I will definitely be reading more from this author.

I thought that this was a great book to read with a lot of suspense and action. This book is mainly about a private school that has many secrets. Furthermore the school is extremely mysterious because there are only four students in it. The main character Cat begins to have suspicions as to what is happening in the school when her classmates start acting weird. She discovers the headmasters plan and you'll have to read the book to find out the rest of the story. This really is a great book and can also be confusing because of the way the author puts the words. You might have to read it a few times until you get it because trust me when you begin to understand it, you will begin to put the pieces together like a puzzle. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. The way the authors writes just makes you want to wonder what's going to happen next after every word.
