Eventually Hammond heard heavy breathing accompanied by rapid footsteps as a man hidden under a hooded top and scarf jogged past with a bull dog on a leash. The man didn’t seem at ease with running, he lifted his knees too high with each stride as if he were attempting dressage. Hammond watched them and caught his breath as the man stopped by the car with the driver inside.
