“She yawned and stretched and tried her best to come alive. Sean entered the room with a wooden tray, wearing a business suit and green dress shirt with a matching tie.
“Good morning, sleepy head.” He set the tray on his side of the bed. “I have to leave in a few minutes, so I’m giving you a key to lock up when you get ready to go.”
She nodded and sat up to investigate the tray full of food. “You cooked me breakfast?”
“Yeah.” He leaned down to kiss her forehead. “And you get to eat in bed.”
She smiled and tucked the sheets beneath her arms. He pulled out his wallet and tossed his business card on the edge of the tray. “I have a meeting this morning—hence the business suit—but I could probably sneak away early if you want to do something later on.”
She picked up the card and read it. “Do you own the company?”
“It’s a partnership run by a board of directors.” He stuffed his wallet in his back pocket. “I call a lot of the shots, though.”
She stared at him.
