“She tossed from side to side, trying to get comfortable, but finally got up to pee. She sat on the toilet, staring down at her distended stomach with its line of darkened skin leading from her protruding belly button to the top of her pubis. She wiped herself and was startled to see a clump of something, streaked yellow and red, on the toilet paper. She stared at the paper for a moment or two and then smiled. The baby was coming.
