    Boyd pocketed his cell and came back to the van. “Goldy, we’re going to your house,” he announced. His expression was unreadable.
    I sighed. I didn’t know whether going back to our place was a good thing or a bad thing, but I couldn’t bear to watch Ernest’s hand-built house being consumed by fire.
