She hated the old flannel pajamas that she brought on trips with Dan. They were dull and boring, but anything she could do to make him keep his hands to himself was worthwhile. On the positive side, they were comfortable – far more comfortable than some of the itchy lace she’d sported on occasion. And comfort was what she craved after topping off her honey-balsamic glazed salmon fillet at Ocean with chocolate espresso cheesecake.     It wasn’t difficult keeping him at arm’s length. He pushed constantly with verbal hints, but the lines were clear. Her black belt in karate didn’t hurt, either. Dan knew there was only so far he could push her before she’d let go with a vicious kick. She’d never had to use such tactics on him, but he knew she was capable. As far as she was concerned, it was one of the reasons he brought her on assignments with him. He was too much of a wimp to handle difficult situations by himself.     She, on the other hand, had been in plenty of tough spots.
